The Dragon Warrior and the Furious Five have returned in Kung Fu Panda 3. And this time, Po has reunited with his father. As they travel to a secret panda village they are sure to encounter excitement, adventure and lots and lots of dumplings.
These little buns are based on the Chinese dim sum treat baozi, but these panda dumplings are filled with Nutella, making them a sweet snack for any journey near or far.
Kung Fu Panda Nutella-Filled Buns (makes 8-10)
Ingredients:
2 cups pancake mix
2 Tablespoons oil
1/2 cup milk
black food gel dye
Nutella
Directions:
Ready boiling water and a steamer.
In the bowl of an electric mixer on low, combine the pancake mix and oil.
Slowly add the milk until the dough comes together and becomes smooth.
Pull off a golf ball sized piece of dough and dye black with the food gel dye. Set aside.
Turn out the rest of the dough onto a floured work surface. Flour your hands and pinch off a golf ball sized piece of dough, pressing it out into a round circle.
Add a small spoonful of Nutella, then bring up the sides of the dough and pinch closed. Roll in your hands until you form a smooth ball.
Take small pieces of the black dough and make the panda details. Press onto the ball and repeat until you get 8-10 small panda heads.
Place the filled buns on cut pieces of parchment and steam on low heat for 15 minutes. Let cool slightly on a wire rack.
