Though she has an awards show to co-host in a few days, Tina Fey is currently in talks to join Disney's Muppets sequel.
THR reports that Fey would play a Russian gulag prisoner guard. The sequel has already locked down Ricky Gervais and Modern Family's Ty Burrell in the European-set caper.
The film also revealed its full title and in true tongue-in-cheek Muppets style. The sequel will be known as The Muppets… Again.
To call the sequel to Independence Day "long awaited" seems like a bit of an understatement considering the original came out 17 years ago. But in an interview with CraveOnline, Bill Pullman says that plans are being made with or without Will Smith's involvement.
"The Will Smith part of it may be ongoing, but I think there's strategies for both. I like what I have to do in both of them. I'm not in an old age home in a wheelchair being sheeled out for one more moment. It's a very interesting conception of what happens to Whitmore between then and when it picks back up."
That been said, Pullman remains skeptical about the sequel's chances.
"Nobody's holding their breath because it's been continually plagued."
The original movie was set to get a 3D re-release this July, but Fox has since pulled the plug on that plan.
