In the first Candyman, audiences watched as a Chicago housing project was terrorized by an urban legend that turned out to be all too real. Now, in 2021’s Candyman, a survivor returns to the area…and the Candyman isn’t far behind.
We last saw the character of Anthony as a baby saved from the clutches of the Candyman. Now an adult played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anthony finds himself living in a condo that stands on the same spot as those housing projects. It’s not long before he’s caught up in the story again.

Director Nia DaCosta wrote the intense screenplay with producers Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld. The movie also stars Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Colman Domingo. Candyman opens on Friday, August 27, and tickets are available right now.
