This in from Stacie Hougland: Earlier this week producers announced the title for the next Bond installment, chosen mere days before, as well as some secrets about the film. (Here's a shot of stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Mathieu Amalric at the press conference.) Let's hear it for….

Quantum of Solace.

Producer Michael G. Wilson explains the title was taken from one of Ian Fleming's stories in the For Your Eyes Only collection and defined by Fleming as "a measure of comfort."

Um…what? As in, The Man with the Golden Hammock? A View to a Vacation? License to Chill? Will we see Daniel Craig crashed out on a beach in Costa Rica, or playing a round of golf? Maybe hanging at a backyard barbecue, beer in hand? Thanks, but I’d rather watch Bond kicking butt than kicking back.

For his part, star Daniel Craig likes it. "It has grown on me," Craig told reporters on the film's set at Pinewood Studios in England, where filming began earlier this month. "It doesn’t trip off the tongue. But why should it?"

In any case, in Solace, James Bond is on a mission to uncover the organization that blackmailed Vesper, the woman who betrayed him in Casino Royale, and finds out the bad guys are planning a takeover of a Latin American country and its valuable natural resources.

Maybe we will see Bond on that Costa Rican beach, after all.
