We’ve been waiting to see what Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first project following his time in office would be, and now we know: He’s going to become a cartoon superhero named The Governator. Entertainment Weekly broke the news, saying that they’re developing an animated TV show and a comic book at the same time, with Marvel icon Stan Lee involved as well.

So what’s it about? Here, let Stan Lee explain: “The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger. We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life. We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”
It’s not a bad idea, mind you, and I like the True Lies-esque storyline they’re using for this. Obviously the animated angle means it’ll be geared more towards kids, which is fine and welcoming since most superhero movies and TV shows nowadays are dark and gritty. Guess we’ll have to see how this pans out when it hits the small screen next year.
What do you think? Is this a good idea for Arnold?
