'Anchorman' Sequel Circles a December 2013 Release Date

'Anchorman' Sequel Circles a December 2013 Release Date

Much like Ron Burgundy, this news is “kind of a big deal.”

Paramount has circled a release date for Adam McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and coincidentally, the sequel will arrive in theaters one year from today. Box Office Mojo just declared Dec. 20, 2013 as the day we’ll catch back up with the Channel 4 news team, though at this point, it’s still unclear what will happen on their latest, ludicrous adventure.

"When we started working on the first Anchorman, it was all about a plane crash that was kind of a parody of the movie Alive,” producer Judd Apatow joked to Crave Online, “so until we get to the set, I don’t know what it’s about.”

Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Christina Applegate are expected to return for the Anchorman sequel, a film that has been six years in the making. McKay will direct from a script that he’s reportedly still fine tuning.

But the cast reassembled recently to shoot this teaser. Stay classy, Anchorman fans. Ron’s return is only one short year away.
