A big day for Bond today as multiple stories on the 007 front are breaking. Let’s run through the items important to fans of Britain’s mot dangerous secret agent, starting with footage of him in action.

Last week, we delivered the first official Skyfall poster with the promise that a new trailer for Sam Mendes’ anticipated thriller would arrive on Monday. Lo and behold, it’s here, and while short, it does just enough to tease the 23rd Bond adventure. Daniel Craig returns to the tuxedo for his third Bond stint in a chapter that sees him trying to protect the venerable M (Dame Judi Dench) from a new threat (played by Javier Bardem).

What does the teaser teach us? Well, Bond’s fine with word-association games … until he’s pressed on the meaning of Skyfall. From there, Bond’s on the move. We see trains, helicopters, the agent on foot and a body tumbling from the sky. Look for what I believe is Bardem’s silhouette at the 1:04 minute mark. But why am I still asking you to read? Watch for yourself.

Capitalizing on the buzz surrounding the new Skyfall trailer, MGM and 20th Century Fox revealed details on the anticipated James Bond 50 Blu-ray box set, which will feature all 22 installments of the long-running spy series.

There are nine 007 movies that will make their Blu-ray debut in the set, which boasts more than four or five hours of exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage for each movie. The set reaches stores on Sept. 25, and is available for pre-order for $199 on Amazon. That breaks down to roughly $9 per film – a veritable steal.

And if that’s not enough for you James Bond junkies (boy, you’re never satisfied!), news is breaking out of the Cannes Film Festival that Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) will direct a biopic of Bond author Sir Ian Fleming. The Hollywood Reporter says that while the picture will focus on the Bond novelist, it somehow will pack enough action to satisfy 007’s rabid fanbase. Casting is underway, and the producers hope to begin shooting later this year.

So between the James Bond 50 Blu-ray set in September, Skyfall in November, and Jones’ Fleming biopic coming likely in 2013, it’s a great, great time to be a Bond fanboy.
