Before we begin, I think it's important to keep in mind that this is a film intended for little kids (or at least I hope it's intended for little kids). In the vein of recent films like Alvin and the Chipmunks and Marmaduke, Yogi Bear merges live action and CG to create a film that definitely pays homage to the Yogi Bear a lot of folks grew up watching – complete with his trademark lines like "I'm smarter than your average bear."
In the new, updated film (due out this December in an attempt to cash in on the holiday season in the same way two Alvin and the Chipmunks movies have done), Yogi Bear stars the voices of Dan Aykroyd as Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Yogi's iconic sidekick Boo-Boo. Anna Faris is probably the most familiar among the live-action actors, and it seems like the main plot will follow a documentary crew who head to Jellystone Park to shoot a project, but then run into Yogi, Boo-Boo and all their crazy shenanigans.
Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think. Harmless kids' movie, or …
Justin Timberlake, Anna Faris, Yogi Bear
Any live action movie with CG talking animals is an instant recipe for ****. With a possible exception for Stewart Little.
Wait!! You mean Stuart Little wasn't filmed with an actual mouse?! haha
I will definitely go see Yogi Bear and The Smurfs! Those were my cartoons growing up!
OMG!!!!! Jesse H are u serious.....this movie MIGHT be based off a cartoon or something....help me please someone. i think this kid's been stuck under a rock for all his life. I know Yogi and think this looks lame for theaters but good for a rental......I'm gonna guess REDBOX it !
Sarcasm is hard to read, but I can get a bit of it out of Jesse's comment.
I don't know. It doesn't look like much, so far. But who knows? Maybe it might turn out to be quite funny. We'll see.
Agreed on an G-6 rating (only for kids under 6 years old and adults with no choice but to sit through it or be charged for leaving their kids unattended in a movie theater).
I'm not sure. I'm not going to say it will be terrible, we'll see. It might be quite funny. But so far, it doesn't look like much. :/ Like I said, we'll just have to wait and see.
I dont understand what the problem is with the movie. Looks Fine to me. just childish. but then it just might be based off of a cartoon or something. should probably keep that one in mind
this movie looks cool, i think it will do just fine, i don't worry about critics and what other people say, i just go to the movies to enjoy the movie.
Meh i love yogi bear, so much in fact I named my dog Boo-Boo, so meh I'll probably rent it and not deal with that annoying 3d Gimmick.
You know you don't have to watch it in 3D at the theater right?
I know, but I want to see every movie that comes out in 3D to tank at the box office, and me not giving them my money while it's in theaters is my little way of boycotting them.
Is there a rating that says you have to be younger than 5 to see a movie? Can we put it on this? In 3D? Really? Well, I only hope it's better than it looks.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
