Sacha Baron Cohen might have a hit on his hands with The Dictator.

Days after Paramount Pictures early-screened a cut of the ribald comedy at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the studio showed another vote of confidence in Cohen’s brand of humor by releasing the official opening scene from the film, due in theaters on May 16. In it, we meet Cohen’s latest original character, General Aladeen, despotic ruler of the North African nation of Wadiya who – as you’ll see – changed more than 300 words in his native language to “Aladeen” … leading to some hilarious complications.

I wasn’t exactly sure what Cohen had up his sleeve with The Dictator. I’m still not 100% sure … but now I know that’s a good thing. Buzz out of CinemaCon was largely positive, and this two-minute clip had three distasteful yet extremely solid jokes. Check it out below.
