Chalk another ‘80s movie up to the reboot/sequel/remake trend. Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. is set to reboot the 1988 Tim Burton-Michael Keaton comedy Beetlejuice with the intention of advancing the storyline from the original.
My thoughts exactly - well said sir!
That is a Wonderful Idea! I had started thinking about casting a sequal set some 6 - 10 years after the original with Keaton for Beetlejuice and Ellen Page replacing Ms. Ryder, but the character is older so it's OK (if not ideal.) But this is better. Much Better.
It now is now necessary to engage in entertaining but pointless speculation and wishes for casting the daughter. Let the games begin!
Hmmmm. I like it, but do dead people age?
And as Peter Griffin said: "what ever happened to gina davis, she used to be in movies but shes not in movies anymore."
That could be dealt with in the script. Something's happening to age the ghosts...
you sound like Rob Lowe in "Thank You For Smoking".
Yes!!!! Fantastic idea. That would get us back!
AWESOME!!! GREAT IDEA :)
GREAT IDEA!!! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!! I LOVE BEETLEJUICE...WE OWN THE MOVIE!!!
Absolutely. Great idea!
Indeed- otherwise, don't bother with another non-inspiring "reboot" of a movie that was fine the first time it came out. Is there any creative talent left in Hollywood?
i agree no one will come even close to michael keatons roll
Well said. We were just discussing how so many remakes & 3-D band-waggoners there are in Hollywood. So sad . . .
Nice to hear I'm not alone! Thank you both for the confirmation posts! And Hollywood (like music industry) blames pirating for lack of sales . . .
This right here! You can use CGI magic to make the Maitlands look like they haven't changed (although Davis and Baldwin still look great, they don't look the same) and Beetlejuice is in so much makeup, Keaton probably could pick up the role again just fine. What kind of child would shock a former Goth, though? I'd be interested to find out.
a politician-type kid.
Either a cheerleader type or a bible-thumping type would probably do it.
Love the idea!!!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
