Stick with what you know. For screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien, it's thrillers based on the underground world of poker and gambling. The duo first entered the seedy world in 1998's Rounders and they return this year with a new thriller called Runner, Runner.
Starring Justin Timberlake as a college student with an addiction to Internet gambling, Runner, Runner is helmed by The Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman. After losing it all, Timberlake's Princeton grad student travels to Costa Rica to confront a cocky gambling tycoon played by Ben Affleck and eventually becomes his protégé. When the FBI, led by Anthony Mackie, starts to dig into their business, their relationship turns nasty and things start to fall apart. The film costars Gemma Arterton as Timberlake's love interest and arrives in theaters on September 27.
Do you think this could be a hit for Timberlake? Will it be a post-Oscars hit for Affleck? Watch the trailer below and let us know!
