Zack Snyder has always been known as a director with style; one who creates films that at times look like moving works of art, with mind-blowing visuals and sexy ensemble casts. He freaked us out with Dawn of the Dead, turned up the action in 300 and floored us with his attention to detail in Watchmen. Now, with Sucker Punch, Snyder brings to the table his first original piece of work that isn't an adaptation of something else. And, based on this newly released trailer, there will be plenty here for both boys and girls to devour come March 25th.

obviously this movie isn't for the people looking for a realistic film. So could you stop complaining about it? It's a fantasy, and i dont think its trying to be realistic, but crazy and fun. i think it looks pretty good

The girls in the "hospital" are being whored out to high paying customers by the head of the institution. This is their hell- made to perform for these brutal johns. That explains the make-up and a few of the clothes they are seen wearing in the institution shots. This movie looks to be one hell of a mental fantasy ride and I will be there to give it a chance.

Wow! I just seen the trailer yesterday and this movie looks out of this world! It seems action packed, has deep underlying meanings and is total fantasy gone a muck. C'mon, if everyone thought of movies so seriously then why even bother to watch them yet alone make them, no wonder Hollywood seems like it has no originality anymore, the general public is near impossible to please. Jeez. I agree with Hollywood dot com in that this movie could be the sleeper of the year. Sure, it's full of high gloss make-up like Ultraviolet (horribly entertaining), and not so hot chicks, but it is fantasy, action, disturbing content and could potentially unlock yet another ground breaking way to make films. I say give it a chance regardless.

The only thing that bothers me is the ugly main girl character, not sure how i could watch the whole movie looking at her face.

This movie looks like it will be good. I like the premise behind it. It almost reminds me of Pans Labyrinth.

It looks pretty cool but I have a feeling it might flop with audiences. It seems like people will either think it looks good or think that it looks horrible. It has that "Scott Pilgrim" feeling. I hope it does well though
heck yeah, Robots! i did not know this had robots, granted i knew it had pretty much everything else. Now i have to see this. I hope its not too much of a violence towards men movie but still looks interesting.

^^ dude why do you comment on every single post negatively. You always seem to find one little thing wrong with a movie. The point of a movie is to get yourself lost in it so it becomes fun, not to hypercriticise it to the point where you already are dissapointed before you even see it jeez

Agreed-I think it looks pretty cool and if you dissect every little thing about it, or any movie for that matter, you miss the point of watching a movie in the first place.
I agree with you two and address this in my post as well. It's a movie, a fantasy movie at that. No wonder no one is satisfied with Hollywood, people are basically unable to be pleased, what a shame. Granted movies aren't like they used to be, though they have matured in some aspects and the public should be happy about that. I'm surprised they haven't remade Legend yet. Anyhow, good day to all.

So my question is how do women in the 50's in a mental hospital get so much makeup in the establisment. Seriously these girls are wearing an unfeasable amount of makup in this "mental" Hospital. On top of the stony acting of the "guru" in the trailer, and add the whole retarded girl "power" feel it has, and zack snyder has dissapointed me.

I don't think zack snyder was going for "realism" in this movie so who cares if the girls are chock full with makeup and plus the mental asylum thing, in the 50's they used to put people in mental asylum's for anything seriously anything. So it still looks pretty cool.
this has to be a joke...

Your complaining about thier makeup in the hospital and what they are wearing is unfeasable in a FANTASY MOVIE with dragons and Robots? THAT''S what your bitchin about? It must SUCK watching movies with you dude. Lighten up. It's a FANTASY movie so it can be visually anything it wants to be. More makeup please..

You need to relax. Movies like this are not meant to be that realistic. Get lost in the effects and enjoy the story. If you want realism go watch national geographic of some other education channel. If you go to this movie expecting realism and an incredibly complex plot you will be disappointed. As others have said, this is a FANTASY MOVIE so go and enjoy the movie for what it is. Awesome visuals, sweet fighting and a good break from reality.
Fantasy Movies can have a good plot and premise and give a feeling of immersion. I see these characters and I'm not sympathetic to them,There more like magic strippers fighting the man and dragons. Retarded.
I agree that they can have a good plot to them but this movie is not of that group. 300 wasn't either, but that didn't make it a bad movie. This movie is really just meant to entertain, and of course they seem like magic strippers, it is all happening in their imagination. Ok so the clothes are meant to attract a mail audience while the power woman mentality and the seeming dominance of bad guy men in the film is there to attract the female audience. I repeat, if you go to this movie with any expectation other than ridiculousness on screen you will probably be disappointed. That said I think many people will love the outlandish concepts and great visual effects.
I found the story in 300 to be quite good. Yes some of the aspects of it were out there, and the history was screwy but it was a well told epic story. This looks more like a movie to attract geeks and women.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
"Squirrel!"
