Seeing as The Twilight Saga: New Moon racked up $140 million at the domestic box office this weekend – giving it sole possession of third place on the all-time best opening weekends list – there's a pretty good chance most of you fought the long lines and took in a screening or several.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon – What Did You Think?(polling)
This movie was SAD SAD SAD "High School Musical with Fangs" I can't believe that anyone over the age of 21 actually thinks this movie was any good.
Some books are not meant to become motion pictures.
The only thing I'd wish is that Regal and Cobb would have had less showtimes for this peice o"S_ _ T" and played Boondock Saints in more cities and showtimes.
First "Abnormal Activity" cause it wasn't Paranormal at all!!!! Then this!!!!. Whats next for X-Mas, Some Yahoo with a video cam getting attacked by Santa's vampire reindeers, I'm sure this will gross well over 150 million. maybe I'll do it.
I loved this movie! Alot of people who feel it was a big let down from the first movie. I personally feel that if people truly liked the first movie because they liked the slowness to it. You have to take a look at the pace of all the books. The first book was slow and dery which was expected in the movie as for the second book that's when it starts to pick up in pace that's why it seems that movie was rushed compared to the book. I mean you can't expect them to drag the movie out because people would complain that it was too long. With 4 books and so little time to satisfy fans desire to see the next movie people need to understand that they are not going to do the "Lord of the rings" effect where you have a 3 hour movie for each movie.
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, THESE KIND OF MOVIES ARE WHAT MAKES ME MAD AS A MOVIE GOER. HOW COULD A HORRIBLE MOVIE DISAPPOINT SO MUCH YET NOT ONLY MAKE SO MUCH MONEY, BUT HAVE AN EVEN GREATER FOLLOWING FOR ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT AND STILL HAVE PEOPLE BEGGING FOR A THIRD ONE... SUCH A SHAME AND INFURIATING AT THE SAME TIME.
I thought the movie was very well directed. Much better than twilight! I did think parts of it were cheesy, but all in all I am happy with it! I can't wait for Eclipse besides Twilight, Eclipse is my other favorite book in the series.
This movie was perfect. The bar is much higher for the next director and I hope Eclipse is as good. The photography was gorgeous. The movie followed the book and even improved on it. Bravo! Everyone looked beautiful and the humorous moments helped break up the melancholy. A+
Kudos to Chris Weitz for staying so true to the book. I liked the original 'Twilight' movie but I loved 'New Moon'. I was really nervous going into the movie and came out feeling happy. I was delighted with what Chris was able to do with the werewolves and the upgrade in make-up for the vampires. The acting, while cheesy at times, was much improved from the first film. I am very, very happy with the end result and hope Chris will return for the 'Breaking Dawn' movie. A+
Catherine Hardwicke...please take some notes down after watching this movie. Kudos to Chris Weitz for staying as close as possible to the book's storyline!!!
The movie could have been alot better however, it was much better than Twilight. At least they stuck more to the story, I thought the transition from scene to scene could have been much better and why add to the movie, I would rather see more parts from the book than add ons. All in all okay, waiting to see if Eclispe is better yet.
Horrible. Don't waste your money.
far better than cathrine hardwicks take on it but still not good enough
Given that the book was the least popular, with Edward out of the picture so much,I think this movie did extremely well in keeping the viewer satisfied. I did want more emotion from Lautner with Stewarts consistent rebuffing his romantic ideas,ESPECIALLY when she opted to go to Italy. He just kind of walked away. And his temper change in the movie theatre prior to werewolf realization was kind of lukewarm, forced. Stewart soooo badly needs lessons in varying her expressions. I believe her depression was depicted quite well without taking up too much time. Really wanted more Volturi time, but it was intense and well done. High school crowd kind of lamish, maybe they don't think their small parts are worth it. Did love it ultimately
Absolutely awful movie. i loved the first but this one completely ruined it for me. it was slow, laborious, heavy-handed with the music and laughable - in all the wrong places!! everyone in the cinema i saw it was literally laughing at the many, many awkward bits in this movie. and what happened to mike's hair colour? and perma-tan? among other things... also, really badly directed and edited in my opinion. and the colour palette of the first film was completely lost in this one - along with all the beautiful teenage-angst moments. there seemed no genuine ones in this movie. oh well. the tweens will love it no doubt. hopefully eclipse will be A LOT cooler. such a shame...
The beginning and the ending were superb, not to mention everything in the middle. Hats off to Chris Weitz for staying true to the book. Kristen, Rob and Taylor made it real. Can't wait for more. June 2009 $175M!
I loved this Movie!! It was a little short but you can't make the whole book into a movie!! I thought it was super awesome!!
I hope the next movie does nto rush thru the parts with bella and edward like new moon did. we want all the scenes with them in and all their heart felt discussions pertaining to their love. do not skip this!!!
Couldn't agree more, they rushed from scene to scene. Then they add parts instead of adding more from the actual story, let down to me.
The movie was not that great. It was too slow, and a big letdown. I was very disappointed. I hope third movie is much better than this turkey.
could of been better
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
