After much debate, Marvel announced today (via Hero Complex) that both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger will be arriving in theaters in both 2D and 3D. It's important to note that both films will convert over to 3D after the fact (a la Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland), but Marvel heads promise they know what they're doing and won't disappoint fans.
Thor, Captain America, 3-D
Fanboy Fix, Comic-Con, 3D
3D makes me sick
I hope this information is true that they are offering 2D and 3D version of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger because if it is not then this well be disappointing for those who get physically ill watching 3D movies and I am one of those people. I think there are far more people who get physically ill watching 3D movies that they are willing to admit or realize and this well cut into their profits. I think it is Time to start boycotting any movies that is only 3D.
TOO MANY 3D FILMS. I know the film industry is suffering from falling ticket sales but come on. If all new films are in 3D, then none of them will stand out as great films.A great film will be overlooked in 3D background noise.
I am sick of 3 D....
If the movie sucks. Then it will just Suck in 3D. 3D doesnt make bad movies better.
This looks awefully cheesy. But I could be wrong. Costumes can look a little Cheesy. But the way it is filmed can make it serious and realistic. Its ALL on the director here.
I cant stand 3-D movies, the classes are uncomfortable not to mention that you never can really tell the diffrence, so why waste the money. In a few years this 3-D crap will be gone an well have something new an better.
i used to love to go to movies but now with the money truble i cant afford to spend the extra $5.00 per person just to see it in 3D...movies were better when they were JUST 2D.
OHHH! NOOO! I LOVE THE ACTOR CHOICES, BUT THOS CUSTOMS HAVE TO GO TO HELL! WTH ARE THEY THINKING!! Clash of the Titans was ok, but the Special effects and customs were A-, which made the film ok to watch to keep your attention. MARVEL! STAN LEE! PLEASE STOP! LOOK AT IRON MAN 2, SPIDER MAN 3,STAR TREK , DARK KNIGHT! FF4 AT LEAST! AND KEEP THE CUSTOMS/SPECIAL EFFECTS Up to par with these films. Please Mr. Lee, shelve this thing before its too late, do not destroy one of the Best Comic book characters (Next to Capt Marvel, The Destroyer, Silver Surfer) adapted to the bigscreen, Make it look like Clash of the Titans? OR Better! (By the way, Liam Neeson look great as Zeus!) Think long and hard about its conversion to Bluray. Please DFU!
I like their costumes albeit yes it's pretty polished but none the less it has a "unique" sense of Royality and Viking-Warrior power: Actors Anthony Hopkins/ODIN, Tom Hiddleston/LOKI (can't wait to see his horns!) and Chris Hemsworth/THOR (where's his helmet?!) w/his Hammer are gonna light up the Thunder in THOR! Great action shot of them in the Ancient-Halls of ASGGARD. I like the snare-glare from Loki stareing at his Father and Thor side-glance watch toward Loki and Odin's no-nonsence presence very intense photo shot...'yeah, alot of Battle action in this movie!!! Looking forward to seeing THOR in both major films formats 3D and 2D this coming New Year 2011.
Looking forward to seeing THOR in 2D. (Comment to the Studios/Distribution machine: Save the cost of doing the 3D conversion an put it into the Script and Screen Content!) The costumes do look... well, more like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers dressing than a "Feature Film!" - - The gods will be angry if it appears as such on screen and a lightning bolt wil be hurled at those responsible.
Costumes look BA. Not a fan of 3-D but who cares.. you still have a choice when you see it, whether to see it normal 2d or 3d.
i think the idea of these movies being converted to 3D is an annoying gimmick to grab at a audience that is so ignorant they cant tell what is good quality and what is there to take their money. also i think that if the trailer shows that the whole movie is like the picture with the ridiculous looking costumes and the peewee's world looking Asgard i will not spend my money to see this movie. This could be a huge make or break moment for marvel because they definite have the access to the technology to make this movie a huge blockbuster, look at iron man. thought if they cheep out and the director was lazy and didn't get a hold of the vision that is Thor it will turn a lot of people away from this film and possibly the avengers.
There are films that are made for 3D (Avatar) and there are some for which 3D is just an afterthought (almost every other recent live action film converted to 3D). Needless to say, the only acceptable 3D films are those made specifcally with 3D technology. Adding it as an after thought just makes the movie look ridiculous. Don't convert a movie to 3D just because you can. I will go see the less expensive and better version of these films. I refuse to waste my money and comfort (horrible glasses!) to see an effect added as an afterthought.
Still gonna see them in 2D.
Resident Evil: AfterLife has been filmed James Cameron Style! I cannot wait till September when that comes out!
These studios are soooo damn cheap!! They make all this money from their comic books and movies and they don't even wanna spend the money to shoot the film using 3D cameras!!!! It makes me sick!
not only that but the only reason there converting it to 3d is because it is probably cheaper for them, so they keep getting richer and the poor schmucks who buy into the 3D gimmick are left in the theater line paying $15 a ticket for **** quality. It makes me sick too. On the other hand I laugh and the morons paying $15 for this gimmick.
There's no way in hell I'm gonna watch them in 3D if they're not shot using 3D cameras. No matter what they say it won't fool me 'cause I work in the industry myself and I know how it's done and even James Cameron agrees. You must shoot the film with 3D cameras, if not, then it will be **** regardless of what they say!
ENOUGH WITH THE 3D!!!!
YES STOP 3D MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
