Perhaps they could've picked a better release date – one that wasn't, say, the day before a holiday where all we do is dress up like freaks and roam neighborhoods begging strangers for candy. Maybe then guys like me wouldn't have to crack jokes and make comparisons between Halloween and Michael Jackson, a man who had more surgeries and wore more costumes than you, me and the tree put together.

But I'm not here to be mean, I'm here to share with you the news that multiple parties have finally agreed and approved the theatrical release of a concert film full of all that rehearsal footage shot of Mr. Jackson in the months leading up to what was supposed to be a massive concert series full of 50 shows in London. Concert promotee AEG Live has been the one orchestrating all these little deals behind the scenes in an attempt to recoup the $30 million they put into promoting the London shows and then subsequently lost when  Jackson passed away.

Aside from a feature film – which will be directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical 3) and include some scenes in 3D – AEG Live also hopes to put together some sort of weird traveling exhibition of Jackson memorabilia to take advantage of the sudden wave of interest in the pop icon's life.

This is It will hit theaters (IMAX, maybe?) on October 30. Will you go see it?
