Here it is; the new Amazing Spider-Man trailer! But before you scroll down to watch its awesomeness, we got some inside scoop from director Marc Webb as one of a few sites invited to catch an advanced sneak peek yesterday at Sony Studios. Webb told us about exploiting the use of 3D as much as possible as well as his approach to the Spider-Man mythology. Webb, whose team is still at work rendering 3D images of The Lizard and other effects in the film, said that he wanted the audience to feel totally immersed and be able to tactilely sense what it's like to be Spider-Man.
While Webb admits that a lot of the sizzle in the trailer is there to sell it to the casual moviegoing audience, he admits that at its core, there's a small indie movie at the heart of Spider-Man. He talked in detail (or at least as much detail as Marvel would allow) about exploring the abandonment Peter Parker feels toward his parents and the disconnection between Parker and Uncle Ben and Aunt Mae. He conveyed a strong interest in exploring the inner turmoil and emotions within Parker.
Throughout the brief Q&A session, Webb emphasized how much he wanted this new series of Spider-Man movies to have their own identity and separate themselves from Sam Raimi's trilogy. Whether or not he achieves that in the eyes of hardcore Spidey fans will be determined when The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3.
Take a look at the new trailer below and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section.

I too am a huge Sam Raimi Spider-man fan and the action in this version seems to focus more on the possible origin of Peter Parker. Should be another Marvel hit and probably only be experienced fully in IMAX 3D!!!! What a GREAT Summer of Comic Heroes again!!!!
