Hold Up! 'Breaking Dawn' May Still Be One Film!

By: Erik Davis on February 17, 2010 at 2:32PM Comments (146)

Only a few days after Deadline Hollywood reported that it was a done deal and Summit Entertainment would be filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in two parts comes word that none of the main actors (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner) have signed on to a fifth film, and the studio is not yet ready to make a decision on whether or not they'll be splitting up the final installment in the Twilight franchise.

Eclipse

One of the reasons why the studio isn't ready is because they still haven't made deals with Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. And since a fifth film wasn't part of their original contracts – not to mention that they're all certifiable movie stars now – in order to secure the trio, Summit will most likely have to dish out a pretty penny (I'd say upwards of $15-20 million for all three).

Realistically, though, Summit can more than afford to pay up, especially considering the kind of money they've already made off this franchise. Splitting the final film into two installments, as well as shooting in 3D, would also help double or maybe even triple their box office grosses. We've been told to expect a decision soon, perhaps even by the end of this month – especially if they want to shoot in the fall.

What do you think? Spend the extra money for the extra film, or try to fit everything into one?

I haven't read Breaking Dawn yet, but I do know that it's just as long as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, I think they should make it into 2 movies.

the book though is split into 3 sections between 2 points of views, you will see what i mean when you read it but i agree it should atleast be 2 movies or even three and split it like the book is split, it just makes the most sense

I agree since there is 3 parts-Bella's then Jacob's then Bella's again- it should be 3 movies, one for every point of view.

The first Bella book isnt long enough to put into it's own book. 2 movies would work. They could Split it right as Jacob's is coming to an end.

I agree with you. If there would be three parts each part would be a different perspective. Add to that the fact that in order to do the book justice and include detail one movie would be terribly long. Don't you agree?

fit it in one. or split it in two and not pay them that much. that is a ridiculous amount when people (mostly) who truly love twilight go for the story...not the characters.

Please don't speak for all of us...it was the story until they put a face on the names. As for me they could replace Kristen and it would be a GOOD thing but leave the boys alone. As for me and my house The movies sucked compared to the books so one or two they will still be a disappointment to the TRUE Twilight fans.....at least the ones that I know!!

Sorry for the misunderstanding....I am just SOOOO passionate and protective about these books/stories that it truly makes me sick to see how they have just underminded almost everything about them. I don't understand why Stephanie Meyer would let them do that happen. And why Kristen Stewart just doesn't get Bella. Bella has so many faces to her....sarcastic, funny, sensitive, shy, out spoken at times, strong willed I'm sure you know all that though. Kristen just doesn't do Bella justice/credit at all and why did the directors of these movie NOT see that? I just don't get it.

I think that they should split it. We need the actors because that makes the movie as much as the stephenie meyers words. There is so much that they can put in those movies. I personally think that they should of make eclipse and breaking dawn as two movies each. so we would have four more to see instead of maybe only three....

Yeh that is right. I will be so sad knowing that breaking dawn was the end of twilight. I hope Meyer will continue the story....I read in the summary of it that Jacob will imprint Renesmee (Bella and Edward's daughter)...so that will be an interesting story. Imagine "Half vampire, half Human a lover of a werewolf". That is so interesting. Maybe they can bring Taylor Swift to ask to play the role of Renesmee with Lautner. Of course dont forget the main characters too.

Ummmm...did you read the book? Renesmee is an INFANT...Taylor Swift cannot play her...besides the fact that there are already 3 horrible actors in the film, they don't need to add a 4th. I love the books (as juvenile as they are) but the acting is horrendous!

MAKE TWO MOVIES! MAKE TWO MOVIES! IT WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER THAT WAY!!! All the movies feel like they move so fast even though they are like over 2 hours. It would be wonderful for them to draw it out, put more of the books content in the movie, and help us to savor ever morsel! WONDERFUL!!!
