Wonderful news, DC Comics fans. Wonder Woman is going to be part of Zack Snyder’s Batman-Superman team-up… meaning Warner Bros. is edging another step closer to completing its own version of The Avengers.

Deadline reports that Gal Gadot has been cast opposite Henry Cavill (Superman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) in Snyder’s developing epic. No stranger to action, Gadot played Gisele in the past three Fast & Furious movies, and also appeared in Knight and Day and Date Night

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” Snyder said.

“Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Now that we know who is playing her, the speculation can begin as to how Snyder will figure out how to fit her into what is becoming a rapidly expanding world. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman will have to figure out how to interact. And will there be a villain? Lex Luthor? Maybe the Joker, as rumored?

Snyder has time to figure this out. The movie is due in theaters in 2015. But for now, do you like this hire?
