The kind folks over at Disney/Pixar have given us the exclusive teaser poster premiere for Monsters University, opening in theaters June 21st, 2013. The animated comedy reunites stars Billy Crystal as Mike and John Goodman as Sulley.
From the official synopsis - "Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends."

Besides this first look at the poster for Monsters University, Fandango was able to take a sneak peek this previous weekend at footage from the upcoming flick, as well as a closer look at the amazing 3D coming up in the release of Monsters, Inc. 3D on December 19th. Tickets are available now!
Seeing as how MU is set on campus, the screening event took place at USC's own Norris Theater just prior to a shellacking of the SC Trojans at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the coliseum. While we enjoyed the footage and the campus atmosphere and all of the tailgating, being the L.A. home-bodies that we are, we could have done without the final outcome of the big game.
Thankfully, the fun stuff we saw from both Monsters University and Monsters, Inc. 3D made up for a lot of the woes on the football field. The scene we were shown from MU featured our likeable heroes Mike and Sulley prior to their adventures in the first Monsters movie, when they were getting to know one another at school, and particularly their time studying to be "scarers." After getting booted out of the illustrious program, the two decide to join a fraternity called Oozma Kappa, recruiting all types of strange-looking monsters who hope to up their thrill quotients. While reminiscent of a G-rated, animated Old School / Revenge of the Nerds, the clip definitely showed potential for admirers of Pixar’s brand of fun.
First up at the screening, though, was a look at the 3D rendering of Monsters, Inc., and the scene at the door factory where Mike and Sulley jump in and out of various scenarios while traversing what seems to be a thousand doors moving along like shirts on a conveyor belt at the biggest dry cleaners on the planet. In multiple dimensions, the depth of field was extremely impressive, and should make for entertaining viewing when it comes out in theaters in a few weeks. Likewise, we'll be anticipating more fun with Mike and Sulley with the release of MU this upcoming summer.
Sounds fun! Thanks for the inside look at this one, John!
Nobody asked for this!
I can't wait to see it and the 3D re--release!
I rather wait for MU this June in 2D. First I want to know their new short
The new short is supposed to be about a umbrella and why in 2D
Because 11 years ago I saw the original in 2D with my bros and parents
Oh, good point! In with the old and out with the old
What does that mean
It means it sorta like how you saw the first one 11 years ago in 2D and now your gonna see the new one 12 years later in 2D
Oh and make that 11 and a half
Apology apstively posutely accepted
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
