With director Darren Aronofsky officially out of the running to direct Superman now that Zack Snyder has landed that gig, it looks as if he might be sliding into the vacant director's chair for Wolverine 2. It's not a done deal yet since there's another project competing for his time – the period crime piece Gangster Squad – so don't go dreaming up what an Aronofsky-helmed Wolverine movie would look like just yet.
Superman, Zack Snyder, Wolverine 2, Darren Aronofsky
The first Wolverine was pretty bad. Really no point in debating.
But as far as Darren (we're on a first name basis) directing, I think he could give it a much darker and much needed character developed touch to the classic hero's story. Like what Nolan did to the first Batman.
first off.....the first wolverine was awesome...idc what anyone says...if you didnt like it its probably because you are one of those xmen nerds that cant appreciate a good movie...just because its a little different doesnt mean u should bash the hell out of it! hugh jackman alone makes the character awesome and makes the movie AWESOME. i think slade should direct the sequel...twilight is complete garbage..but every director has ATLEAST one bad movie. and ya know he did direct 30 DAYS OF NIGHT! which is an awesome and very mature movie, compared to the immature,/homo/retarded twilight movies...and seriously...MAKE THE WOLVERINE SEQUEL RATED R!! it needs to be more like the videogame the first movie was based on.
I really like the first Wolverine movie and looking forward to the WOLVERINE 2!!! big smile.
I agree completely. I'm a big wolvie fan, ever since childhood. However, the wolverine movie was horrible. Just because you let the character use profanity it doesn't make him tougher. Especially when you have him whimpering every 15 minutes.
Aronfsky is TOO clever for this title. Honestly, they've done so much damage that half of the movie would be spent cleaning out the nonsense. So I say let the Twilight director do it. He already has experience putting garbage together on the screen.
I really like Aronfsky and I feel Wolverine 2 would be a horrid waste of talent! It's like hiring Scorsese to direct the Fast and the Furious. Wolverine was a horrid disappointment and the sequel (which I assume already has a screenplay) probably can't save the character damage done. Unfortunately i am a sucker for Marvel movies so i have to see it. But seriously Aronfsky should not direct it. I agree with the give him Batman after Nolan passes the torch, but only if he has a hand in writing the screenplay. His genius is really in his writing and directing. He should his own movies!
I would much rather have David Aronofsky direct the next Wolverine than any director who previously directed a freakin' Twilight movie. I don't want any associated with Twilight to be a part of the world of Wolverine.
Aronofsky would be talented wasted on a flick that does not need a big time director.
He should do something better
Slade would work. I can't see Aronofsky handling a big budget superhero film. The only things I've seen him do are indie films like The Wrestler and Black Swan. I don't know. If other people think it can work, then I'm probably wrong but I don't see it.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
