The past couple days have seen a lot of Russell Crowe news. The actor is reportedly attached to Akiva Goldsman's Winter's Tale. Word got out yesterday that Darren Aronofsky wants Russell to headline his Noah movie and it appears now Crowe is a serious contender to star in the upcoming Robocop reboot.
Crowe already has Les Miserables on his plate as well as Winter's Tale and a cameo in Ron Howard's Formula One movie Rush.

John Hawkes, Mos Def in 'Jackie Brown' Prequel
The Jackie Brown prequel The Switch has picked up a pair of leads. John Hawkes (Winter's Bone, Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Mos Def (16 Blocks, Cadillac Records) will star as Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie.
The roles were originally brought to the big screen in Quentin Tarantino's 1997 film Jackie Brown, adapted from Elmore Leonard's novel Rum Punch, with Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson playing Louis and Ordell, respectively.
The prequel is an adaptation of Leonard's 1978 novel of the same title and was transcribed for the big screen by director Dan Schechter.
Hawkes certainly has shown some acting chops and Mos Def has a swagger similar to Mr. Jackson. Do you think Hawkes and Def could pass as young De Niro and Jackson?
Kate Hudson = Action Star?
Since her role in Cameron Crowe's classic Almost Famous, Kate Hudson hasn't had much success with her choice of movies (Bride Wars, Something Borrowed or Fool's Gold, anyone?). It seems Hudson in now looking to dramatically change her image by starring in an action movie.
Hudson is now set to star in Everly, directed by Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2 and the upcoming Knights of Badassdom). She'll play a woman trapped in her apartment fighting off waves of assassins sent by her ex-boyfriend who just happens to be a mob boss. Kind of sounds like the upcoming The Raid.
Do you think Hudson can pull off an action star role or should she stick with schlocky rom coms?
