THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA (APR. 19)

From The Conjuring producer James Wan comes The Curse of La Llorona, a 1970s-set horror movie about the titular ghost of Mexican legend. In life, La Llorona drowned her children, and in death, she weeps as she drags more children into the water. Time will tell if Anna Garcia (Linda Cardellini) will be able to defend her family from the deadly poltergeist.

POKÉMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU (MAY 10)

JOHN WICK 3: PARABELLUM (MAY 17)

The biggest mistake they made was killing his dog. The biggest mistake John Wick (Keanu Reeves) made was killing a member of the High Table inside the Continental. With a $14 million dollar bounty on his head, John Wick must escape New York with countless assassins on his heels including the likes of co-stars Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose and Laurence Fishburne.

ALADDIN (MAY 24)

Guy Ritchie (director of the unspeakably underrated Man from U.N.C.L.E.) directs Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin (1992). Frank Welker returns as the Cave of Wonders' voice, but the updated cast includes Will Smith as the bombastic Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, and Marwan Kenzai as the evil Jafar. Disney's been on a roll with these live-action remakes, and we're confident this one will show us the world!

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS (MAY 31)

From director Michael Dougherty of Trick R' Treat and Krampus fame comes Godzilla: King of the Monsters, where the lead lizard himself faces off against his classic foes: Rodan! Mothra! Caught in the middle is Monarch, the crypto-zoological, anti-kaiju agency staffed by characters played by Ken Watanabe, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Sally Hawkins and Zhang Ziyi!

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 (JUN. 7)

What do pets do while their owners are away? The Secret Life of Pets returns for an all-new, family-friendly adventure. In typical Illumination fashion, we have a hilarious trailer showcasing Max's (Patton Oswalt) visit to the vet, but how it gets crazy and brings in Duke (Eric Stonestreet), Gidget (Jenny Slate), Snowball (Kevin Hart), and Chloe (Lake Bell) has yet to be seen.

DARK PHOENIX (JUN. 7)

Longtime X-Men franchise producer Simon Kinberg directs his first movie in the saga with Dark Phoenix, ostensibly a Logan-style retelling of X-Men: The Last Stand's take on The Dark Phoenix Saga. This latest X-film boasts returning fan faves Professor X (James MacAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Jessica Chastain in an unknown villainous role somewhere between Mastermind and Mr. Sinister.

MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL (JUN. 14)

Back in Black! The beloved Men in Black franchise returns with Men in Black International, a spinoff featuring the agency's London base. It's chock-full of comedy and action maestros including Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Rafe Spall and Rebecca Ferguson.

SHAFT (JUN. 14)

2019's Shaft is the fifth in the Shaft franchise, but the first for this generation. It brings John Shaft Jr. (Jessie Usher), an FBI agent, into an uneasy alliance with John Shaft (Samuel L. Jackson) – his father from 2000's Shaft – and eventually even his grandfather, John Shaft – that's Richard Roundtree from the original Shaft (1971) of Blaxploitation legend!

TOY STORY 4 (JUN. 21)

Andy's beloved toys return in their fourth adventure, which sees Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Bo Peep (Annie Potts) and Jessie (Joan Cusack) going on an unintentional road trip with DIY maybe-toy Forky (Tony Hale), carnival prizes Ducky and Bunny (Keegan-Michael Key & Jordan Peele respectively) and Keanu Reeves in an unknown role – maybe a wink to John Wick as a dog toy?

ANNABELLE 3 (JUL. 3)

You can't keep a good doll down! The demonic Annabelle returns in her next terrifying tale. After Annabelle: Creation (2017) gave her evil origin and Annabelle (2014) showed her first shocking haunting, Annabelle 3 will serve as a sequel to the original and show what nightmarish things Annabelle does with Ed and Lorraine Warrens' other possessed relics.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (JUL. 5)

It might be an Avengers: Infinity War spoiler, but Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far from Home, which sees the web-swinger on a class trip in Europe where he runs afoul of Jake Gyllenhaal as the nefarious Mysterio! Will sparks fly between Peter and Zendaya's Michelle "MJ" Jones? Who knows, but until then, make mine Marvel!

THE LION KING (JUL. 19)

"I just can't wait to be king!" Fresh off The Jungle Book (2016), Jon Favreau directs the photorealistic CGI-remake of The Lion King (1994). It features a new cast starring Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki and James Earl Jones as Mufasa - because who else is going to play Mufasa, father of an entire generation?

DORA THE EXPLORER (AUG. 2)

It's fun for the whole family when Dora the Explorer comes to the big screen! James Bobin (The Muppets [2011]) directs Isabela Moner as the titular character, who must brave the treacherous wilds of high school, raise her mischievous monkey Boots and team up with her cousin Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg) and a few classmates to plumb the depths of a lost Incan civilization and maybe learn something about family and friendship along the way.

THE NEW MUTANTS (AUG. 2)

Josh Boone's long-awaited installment in the X-Men franchise thrusts an all-new into an all-new genre for series: horror. GEMINI MAN (OCTOBER 4)

Will Smith stars opposite a younger clone of himself in this sci-fi action thriller about an assassin attempting retirement. Originally conceived in the 1990s, the movie waited for the visual effects technology of de-aging to be perfected before it could be made. With Ang Lee (Life of Pi) at the helm, it should be worth the wait.

JOKER (OCT. 4)

Want to know how the Joker got his psychological scars? Joaquin Phoenix stars as the Batman villain in this gritty origin story inspired by old Martin Scorsese movies, including Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy. Robert De Niro even co-stars in this look at the early years of the Clown Prince of Gotham.

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK? (OCT. 11)

Based on Nickelodeon’s popular anthology series from the 1990s, this horror movie for a younger audience arrives just in time for Halloween. And it’s got some decent cred, as the adaptation is written by Gary Dauberman of It and Annabelle fame. That should definitely meet the approval of the Midnight Society.

ZOMBIELAND 2 (OCT. 11)

Arriving just in time for the 10th anniversary of the original, the Zombieland sequel follows the further adventures of Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) as they continue to stay alive during the zombie apocalypse, try to enjoy the little things and search for more Twinkies.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS (NOVEMBER 1)

Good morning, Angels fans, and welcome to yet another movie version of the classic TV series. This incarnation, which is going more global in scope, stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the latest trio of crime-fighting women, while Elizabeth Banks directs and co-stars alongside Patrick Stewart and Djimon Hounsou.

UNTITLED TERMINATOR REBOOT (NOV. 1)

Not only will Arnold Schwarzenegger be back for another Terminator movie, but Linda Hamilton returns as Sarah Connor for the first time since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This is also the first installment to directly involve James Cameron as a producer since that initial sequel, to which this serves as a franchise-retconning direct follow-up.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (NOV. 8)

Everyone’s favorite speedy blue hedgehog is racing into theaters in this live-action/CG-animated video game adaptation. Ben Schwartz (DuckTales) voices the title character, while Jim Carrey will appear as the villainous Dr. Ivo Robotnik and James Marsden will play a rural cop who befriends Sonic. Don’t walk, run and roll to your nearest theater for this one.

KINGSMAN 3 (NOV. 15)

The third chapter of the stylish action franchise follows Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle without their main star, Taron Egerton, who has confirmed he’s taking a break from the series. Little else is known about the spy movie sequel, which may in fact be a prequel.

FROZEN 2 (NOV. 22)

Disney can’t hold this sequel back anymore. Fans are anxiously awaiting the studio to let it go to theaters so they can enjoy -- for the first time in what seems like forever -- another feature-length tale of Anna and Elsa and their friends Kristoff, Sven the reindeer and Olaf the snowman. Too bad it’s not coming out in summer.

UNTITLED JUMANJI SEQUEL (DEC. 13)

Following the enormous success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart are back for another fantastic adventure inside the world of a video game. What’s in store for the avatars this time remains a secret, but we can expect the sequel to feature more laughs and thrills.

CATS (DEC. 20)

Moviegoer, turn your face to the marquee light; let your memory lead you; open up, enter in the theater. You will find there the meaning of what happiness is, as this new adaptation of the iconic Broadway show begins. Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson and Taylor Swift star in the feline fantasy.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX (DEC. 20)

This is it - the final chapter in the Skywalker Saga. Han is gone, Luke left the physical world, and now Leia will get a proper farewell following the death of Carrie Fisher. Director J.J. Abrams is back to guide us through the galaxy again as new friends Rey, Finn, Poe and BB-8 help conclude the story.

LITTLE WOMEN (DEC. 25)

The latest adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic coming of age novel stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen as the March sisters, with Laura Dern as their mother and Meryl Streep as their aunt. Timothee Chalamet also co-stars in the movie, which is directed by Lady Bird’s Greta Gerwig.
