Next month fans will have a chance to reunite with their favorite Frozen characters on the big screen when a new short film, Frozen Fever, premieres in front of Disney's live-action Cinderella. The short also reunites the same team that worked on the full-length movie, with  returning, as well as songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote a whole new song for the returning cast of Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Olaf (Josh Gad) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff). And while a straight-up Frozen sequel will most likely be announced at some point, Disney is already hard at work on the next big Frozen adventure: the Broadway musical.

It was inevitable, sure, but for the first time we're getting confirmation that the show is indeed in the works, though no date has been set yet. What we do know is that Lee will write the book, while the Lopezes wlll create a new batch of songs. Oh yes, there will be new songs. Be prepared.

A scene from Frozen Fever, in theaters March 13.

Broadway veteran (and Queen Elsa) Idina Menzel isn't signed on for the show, nor are any of the film's cast at this time. With a run likely stretching beyond 2017, we're curious to see if Disney finds a way to use the musical as a bridge between movies. Could the musical introduce songs featured in the sequel? Or will all the new songs somehow fit inside the existing story we already know?

No matter what they do, it'll be successful. It'll break records. It'll provide an outstanding live experience. Having watched Frozen on Ice a few months back, we can confirm that Frozen live is just as satisfying (if not more) than the movie. Here's a taste of what that looks like.

Needless to say, we're looking forward to the musical. We're not ready to let go of this franchise yet.
