The holiday movie season is upon us! We asked nearly 2,000 moviegoers what they're looking forward to seeing.

Fandango found that 83% of ticket-buyers plan to watch at least one film in theaters this holiday season, with 68% planning to see at least two films in theaters in the coming months. Additionally, 66% of those surveyed reported being most interested in seeing newly released movies with their families, while 34% look forward to watching holiday classics.

Fandango joined in on the age-old debate of whether certain classic films are considered to be Christmas titles. 73% and 65% of those surveyed confirmed that The Nightmare Before Christmas and Die Hard, respectively, are in fact Christmas films. In contrast, survey participants were less convinced that Sleepless in Seattle and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang should fall into that category.
 
For movie fans looking to get further into the holiday spirit, Rotten Tomatoes will feature a variety of new content in November and December, including watch lists and holiday-themed gift cards. While Vudu, Fandango’s on-demand streaming service, will also join in on the holiday fun with special deals on holiday titles to rent or buy – no subscription required.
