Casting: Angelina Jolie Turns Down 'Salt 2,' Jason Segel Says No to 'Muppets' Sequel and New Robocop Is...Who?

Talk of a sequel to the 2010 action film Salt has been buzzing ever since the movie hauled in almost $300 million worldwide, but actual progress has been slow.

One of the main hold-ups has been whether star Angelina Jolie would return for a second run as Evelyn Salt. Today, Jolie has effectively said that she will not be a part of the sequel, which is set to be directed by Kurt Wimmer, who wrote and directed the first film.
Jolie was sent a copy of the script for approval and apparently was not happy with it. She refused to sign off on it, leaving Columbia Pictures and Wimmer in a position to either re-cast the role or rewrite the script with a new character, similar to what Universal has done with the Jason Bourne franchise.
What do you think? Should Wimmer rewrite the script or should Columbia re-cast the role? If so, who would you cast?
New RoboCop Cast
Over the weekend MGM cast Joel Kinnaman as the lead in their Robocop reboot. If the name doesn't look familiar, Kinnaman stars in the TV series The Killing and had roles in The Darkest Hour and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Do you think Kinnaman can pull off the role?
Jason Segel Will Not Star in The Muppets Sequel
Finally, some sad news for Muppets fans. Last week we found out that Jason Segel would not be writing the script for The Muppets sequel. Now the actor has confirmed to Collider that he won't star in the film either.
Segel told the site that, "It's totally amicable. My goal was to bring The Muppets back and I ddi that leaving them in very good hands, my writing partner and James Bobin the director. I did what I set out to do and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects."
With Segel not returning for the sequel, we can pretty much all but count out Amy Adams as well, leaving the next installment of The Muppets to go in a completely new direction.
What do you think The Muppets should do next?
