Last spotted: “I’m not the one who needs to watch her back,” were the last words Black Widow agent Natasha Romanoff spoke to Tony Stark before going underground. Though she seemed to have sided with Stark in taking in Steve Rogers, she betrayed the Avengers in letting the Captain escape with Bucky Barnes. She has remained off the grid for the past couple years.
Updated description: Natasha can be identified by her blond hair (a change from her signature red), as well as her military green and black suit. Changing her appearance has helped her elude those who would seek to haul her in for government questioning.
Current movements: Natasha has been executing secret missions alongside Captain Rogers. She’s commonly operated on her own, even when working alongside other enhanced individuals, but she’s become a “well-oiled machine” with Captain America.
Current whereabouts: Black Widow joined Captain America and other former members of the Avengers in Wakanda, where they are preparing for the arrival of Thanos’ forces. As we’ve seen in the first trailer, she first emerged from hiding along with Cap to fight what appears to be Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos’ Black Order. Vision had been attacked for the Mind Stone lodged in his forehead, and the footage seems to suggest Natasha and Steve will help rescue their former teammate.
Relationships: With Bruce Banner back on earth, the two will continue their “star-crossed lovers” thing, said Mark Ruffalo. “So, it'll be something they're dealing with for the rest of their living days, I think. Whether it's requited or unrequited, I don't imagine that's gonna go away anytime soon in one iteration or another.”
Picked up from agents: “They’re more hardened, and I think when you are working underground for such a long time and you’re fighting for something that you know is important but is not being recognized or supported by a larger organization or even society as a whole, it takes a certain toll.” – Scarlett Johansson
