Abysmally Tedious and Whining.
While Herzog attempts to avoid outright statements about execution, his suggestions are none the less effective in expressing his passivism. I found this movie-length near home-video-like mess tedious and frankly, had trouble understanding what the film maker was trying to say with the composition. Since the documentary format should actually document something, rather than go on some topical ramble, my best guess is they needed three cameras rather than the one. At least that would have made the visuals mildly interesting. Given content, this should have been a 30 minute run instead of 1 hour 47. I'd strongly recommend skipping this till it turns up on Bravo or the History Channel, since it's not even fit for premium pay TV, much less paid theatrical exhibition. This one is an ?abyss.? It's definitely not worth the misery, even if you have a free ticket. Choose to see it and you?ll be longing for execution yourself before it ends.
