    Why Not?

James Caan's acting is worth seeing. Keanu cleans up nicely - the point of the importance of good theatre is made. Judy Greer is fine because she is 'accidently' introduced to the main character, not a perfect match. A few good moral points well made.

    Henry's Crime

I was lucky to see this movie early on. Did not know what to expect and sincerely thought is was a fun and quirky movie. It has wonderful moments with James Caan carrying some scenes as only he can do...and Vera...perfect for this. This is not Keanu doing the Matrix thing at all...but trust me, you will not be disappointed. As Caan said in an interview the other day, "This is not Hamlet...".....it is also not a sequel...a remake or a gratuitous affair....it is a modern day Capra-style romantic comedy...where all the characters bring something to the party...or the heist in this case.

Henry's Crime has fun supporting characters

Vera is always wonderful to watch and clearly was the best part about the movie as Julie, our hapless hero's love interest (which begins with one of the funniest meet cutes--she runs him over with a car, and proceeds to yell at him for it). She really is what gives the movie heart, and gives the once aimless, passionless Henry (Keanu Reeves), a real purpose. It is also great to see James Caan as Max, the goofy, dad-type, con, who becomes a life mentor in Henry's uninspired and lackluster existence. Henry gives Max a push to finally get out of prison, and in turn Max gives Henry a life lesson on committing to your dreams.
