The movie was excellent! It really stayed true to the book. They did a great job splitting the book into 2 movies, or it would have been really hard to put the entire book into one movie.

Feel the stretch but it still feels good

I understand the commercial decision to make the final HP chapter a two parter and end in a 3D finale. But you feel the stretch a bit here in the desolate search for the horcruxes. Still it's must see and the right way to see it is IMAX - pure magic.

IMAX not 3D -- not as family friendly as the previous movies

    by vlwall

Thoroughly enjoyed the movie itself, did NOT enjoy paying extra for IMAX and then having it not be 3D. I didn't even know that there was a non-3D version of IMAX... basically they just showed the 2D on the IMAX screen.... paid a lot more than necessary to see the movie. IF you're a fan of the previous movies, you'll love this one, but sadly it would not be appropriate for my 11 year old niece who has LOVED all of the previous movies, because for some strange reason they decided to break with the family-friendly pattern and include some CGI nudity that really takes this out of the PG realm IMO. So that's a serious bummer for me.... I've taken my niece to the previous 2 movies, and I won't be able to take her to this one.... and she will be bummed.... which in turn has ME bummed and disappointed. Without the IMAX issue and "nudity" it would be a "must GO". That I can't continue the trend by taking my niece to it is a gross disappointment.
