    Gone With The Wind

I have seen this movie countless times. In MANY theaters and cities. And at the Arclight in Hollywood and at the old Cinerama Dome and at the Academy of Motion Pictures theater on Wilshire. And at the Nuart. And at LACMA.
But NEVER have I seen a better print, presentation, and SOUND (for this 1939 movie) as what was reeled off last Friday night at the Egyptian theater. Thank you. I had a GREAT time. What a movie. It would still sweep the Oscars this year. One thing for sure: the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood Blvd. ROCKS!

Anuual showing of Gone With The Wind

This is becoming one of my favorite Thanksgiving weekend traditions! The American Cinematique plays this every year and this year was the best yet! A fully restored digital version gave us the best picture quality while retaining the original format of the film. If it's your first time seeing it, or your fiftieth, go see it!

    Tomorrow is Another Day!

If you are a fan of classic movies, then this is a must see on the big screen. It doesn't happen often that we get to see Gone With The Wind in brilliant living color on a big screen. It is even more powerful that way than on DVD or VHS. It was a very special experience. It was also a lot of fun getting friends together, dressing in theme, and make a pilgrimage to see this cinematic masterpiece.

Be prepared to have your emotions take a rollercoaster ride. This movie deals with themes that touch and terrify. There are moments of humor mixed into the action, the drama, the sadness, the excitement. This movie has stood the test of time and it is very obvious why. The movie is about survival - perseverance. Make it a point to see it on the big screen. It reminds us why Hollywood used to be such a legendary dreamweaver.
