    BEAUTIFULLY CRAZY!

A great script ....typical cultural misconceptions.....as a struggling Mex/Amer. I realized how I had misjudged my upscale American neighbors as having 0 problems in life..... From 1 P.O.V. one gets the feeling that Kirsten's(Nicole's) deviant, layed-back character is typical for people who seemingly have no stuggles what so ever........yet from another angle it seems what 's missing in Nicole's life is the simple need to feel loved. I discovered some interesting points in the dialogue too...for instance why should Jay Hernandez( Carlos) make any kind of moral sacrifice to make nicole feel better about herself; since she already has it all......everything that carlos is trying to work for? In any case, when you look into kirsten's (Nicole's) starry eyes, at her great smile ,you just want to fight for her , to take back that happiness life has stolen away from her heart. Kirsten's performace was absolutely flawless. She's is a natural talent. She just makes you crazy/beautiful.

It is largely set at Palisades Charter High School and the surrounding area, including downtown Pacific Palisades, Malibu (where Dunst's character lives), and East Los Angeles (where Hernandez's character lives).
The film is that of a blemished, rich, uncontrollable congressman's daughter, Nicole (Kirsten Dunst) who meets up with a Mexican-American level headed student (Jay Hernandez), resulting in a clash of cultures, values and a love affair. Nicole is troubled after her mother committed suicide during her young age. She feels unwanted by he

Very much of a guilty pleasure. A nifty piece of teenage romantic piffle, it...

It is an enormous improvement over the brainless, patronizing teenage romances...

Atypical teen drama about opposites attracting that often (and happily)...

Even when the movie is bad -- it's addictively so.
