Synopsis

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, 2010, Focus Features, 106 min. Dir. Lisa Cholodenko. Nic and Jules (Annette Bening and Julianne Moore) are living out one of the many modern family scenarios: a happy marriage with teenage children whom they conceived with the help of a donor. When their daughter and son find and start up a tentative relationship with long-ago “Donor Dad” Paul (Mark Ruffalo, perfectly capturing aimless, bohemian masculinity), Nic and Jules’ smoothly functioning relationship with each other and with the kids is thrown into chaos. <br />SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS, 2010, Crispy Films, 101 min. DJ "Delicious" Dean (Christopher Thornton) is recently paralyzed and wheels about the unkind streets of Los Angeles in the hopes of resuscitating his once-hot career. In a desperate and foolhardy move, Dean opts out of the community of faith-healers he has become close with, and instead turns his focus to an unstable rock band that offers the alluring Band-aid of quick cash and brief fame.
