Synopsis

Double Feature: THE JERK, 1979, Universal, 94 min. Dir. Carl Reiner. Steve Martin plays the lovable idiot Navin R. Johnson, who leaves his poor black family behind to see the world. Bernadette Peters sings, dances, throws knives and plays the trumpet while M. Emmet Walsh shoots and curses his way into film history.

25th Anniversary! LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, 1986, Warner Bros., 94 min. Director Frank Oz’s delightful adaptation of the Off-Broadway musical spawned by Roger Corman’s low-budget horror comedy stars Rick Moranis as Seymour Krelborn, a lowly assistant working in a New York flower shop. Following an eclipse, he finds a particularly unusual plant and discovers that it feeds on human flesh – in fact, its hunger for it is insatiable. When “Audrey II” sets its sights on the co-worker he’s in love with (Ellen Greene), it’s time for Seymour to weed out this mean green mother from outer space. With Steve Martin and Bill Murray.
