Good acting and production quality, but missed the mark in relation to scripture

Many parts were done quite well and tastefully, and many parts were inspiring. This however was frequently overshadowed by a lack of research. I understand artistic license in creating a movie from Scripture, but there were simply too many parts that took too many liberties with Scripture, which lost much of the theological significance. Additionally, some parts were overemphasized, while the pace of others moved way too quickly, making it hard for the audience to engage. Great cast and good acting with the exception of a few rather corny lines that were sadly not cut. Overall, this movie could've been great, but the lack of research on the part of the director and/or writers, left me with an overall feeling of disappointment.

Very much like the mini-series, but all Jesus. Was fabulous and if you are not a Christian it will give you a snip of parts of the bible that lead Christ followers to become such. So awesome to see on the big screen.

This movie speaks for itself, I believe that everyone in America should see this film. I think this is a great start to remind us about our faith especially for those who have lost their faith. Son of God will hopefully help bring back the word to America. This country has lost our faith, the last time we all came together was 9/11, however after 9/11 when the nation all prayed together, most of us went back to our normal lives and washed out Christ once again. I think these movies coming out for us to see are only signs from Christ reminding us to come back. I have seen The Bible which includes this film and have to say, these movies have helped me understand the bible better and have brought me closer and began my relationship with Christ that so many of us have forgotten and lost. There are reason for coincidences!!!!!!!! GO SEE THE MOVIE AND BE TOUCHED LIKE I WAS.............

I Read The Book... It's Better! lol

I read the book and it was better! I do applaud the effort & anything that Shares the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ & His saving power is a good thing! Please use this venue to expose unsaved friends and loved one to the message of forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross! However, I personally found it lacking in delivery, slow at times... Nothing new we had not seen before. My biggest disappointment was with the resurrection scene at the tomb. You might argue that the producer's were trying to stick to the narrative in John's Gospel but if there was any reason for taking artistic license it should have been here! I mean, with the modern technology and spectacular effects... the resurrection of Christ, the stone rolled away by an angel, the earthshaking fear that surely struck in the hearts of the guarding roman soldiers (The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. Mat. 28) the glory of a risen Christ! Even more awe inspiring! Big Tommy

Son of God

I would rate this movie a "Must Go" . The Son of God was done very tastfully and remarkably very well directed regarding the life of Jesus. The Cruxifiction was very hard to watch and felt the pain and the loss for Mary as she watched her Son die. Acting was fantastic and would recommend this movie to everyone.
