Biography
A busy name in the field of action serials, California native Morgan B. Cox wrote and/or produced such genre classics as Dick Tracy (1937), Zorro's Fighting Legion (1939), The Phantom (1943), and Jungle Queen (1945). A founding member of the Writers Guild of America, Cox later did much to ensure that television writers were included under the jurisdiction of the guild. An honorary Writers Guild award was later named for him. Cox died October 23, 1968, in Los Angeles.
