Update: After the huge success of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Doctor Strange and Black Panther, expectations have been raised for the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War picks up the story after Captain America: Civil War; the Avengers as we know them are apparently coming to an end, with the forthcoming Avengers 4 wrapping things up for this phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first trailer established a very somber tone, which seemed appropriate, given the apocalyptic overtones of the story. A new trailer, however, presents a broader view, with a few welcome comic asides. Make no mistake, though, it's still quite serious overall; we also get a peek at more superheroes than ever, as well as several new action sequences, which all look absolutely terrific.
