SAY YES....TO YES MAN!!! Laugh till your dentures fall out(if you've any)! GRADE: SOLID B

Written December 11, 2008
WED. DEC. 10 - I had very low expectations going into the advance press screening of this 104-minute movie this evening. I thought - oh well - just another Jim Carrey farce..... but I was WRONG. YES MAN proved to be hilariously entertaining from start till end - not a dull moment! Jim Carrey was perfectly at home in this comic vehicle. A strong supporting cast contributed to the above-average quality production. The ensemble had GREAT chemistry. If I had dentures - I'd probably laugh out loud till they fall out - some of the scenes/jokes were that funny! Trust me - I'd never look at some lil ole ladies, and the movie - 300, and Harry Potter films quite the same way again..... VERDICT: Highly recommended for comedy-movies fans and fans of Jim Carrey. YES MAN is SO MUCH better than the insipid Four Christmases. Some scenes/jokes not appropriate for kids/children. Otherwise, just relax - enjoy - and have a fun time!!!

"YES MAN" -- 'Yes' is the New 'KNOW' =

(Based on an advance preview:) This is one of the best JIM CARREY efforts in years, mainly because he is comparatively "restrained" in his craziness and surrounded by strong supporting characters. Carrey plays Carl Allen, an almost automatically-NEGATIVE man who still suffers from the breakup with his longtime girlfriend. He doesn't want to do much of anything new or different in his increasingly depressed life, despite the urgings of his friends (BRADLEY COOPER, JOHN MICHAEL HIGGINS & DANNY MASTERSON). Reluctantly, he attends a seminar where the Guru (TERENCE STAMP) urges everyone to say "YES!" to everything. Carrey tries that new-for-him "anti-negative" attitude, meets free-spirit Allison (ZOOEY DESCHANEL), and his life changes massively. The movie is very FUNNY and has some positive messages amidst its consistent and enjoyable nuttiness.

There has to be something that this site can do in order to stop people from doing this. If we all join in together we can put an end to this horrific tragedy. I'm a huge movie fan and enjoy reading other people perspective on the film AFTER THEY HAVE SEEN IT. Anything else is just absolute jiberish. You should all be assamed of yourselves. Now go to the movie. By the way this movie was much better than Jim Carrey's last few. He gets back to his roots on this by doing his physical comedy and at the same time showing that he can be a drama actor as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Jim Carrey will one day win an Oscar. Not for this movie but he's back on track.

This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen! I can not believe anyone would have rated this movie PG-13! It had so much profanity that I was embarressed. I had taken my child and a friend to see this and we left before it was over. I hope that parents will read this and NOT allow their children to be exposed to such crude humor. Among the multiple profane words, there is a scene where an older woman (60-70) removes her teeth to perform a sexual act on the main character who is in his 30s or 40s. There were several scenes with way too much alcohol involved as well. I would highly suggest that no one of any age support this movie! I was very disappointed!!!
