The Return of the Character Comedy

There was a time long ago when bit parts in great comedies were well written and well executed. It's back. Every detail of Wreck-It Ralph is superb - well written, well acted, well drawn. It's as rich in treats as the land of the game Sugar Rush it portrays. Kids and adults will like it. But that's an understatement. From the "aw shucks" country sincerity of Fix-it Felix whose "affection" is "rebuffed" despite his "honeydew" glow, to the full-metal-jacket starship trooper beauty is always speaks in awkwardly dire hyperbole, to to Sour Bill, the superbly glum herald of the kingdom of Sugar Rush, everything in Wreck-It Ralph has been lovingly rendered. It's chock full ofclever references back to, well, every computer game ever. But it also harkens back to such landmark films The Wizard of Oz - not just in references the O-E-O guards of the wicked witch - but also in the lavish attention to detail that made old-school films great. This is comic film making at its finest.

Amazing! Toy Story meets video games

This movie was awesome! It's what you would get if you took Pixar's Toy Story concept and applied it to video games instead of toys. It's a glimpse of what video game characters do when we're not playing them, along with several other themes that make for a great story and lovable characters. Any gamer who grew up in the Nintendo era is probably going to love this movie. There are lots of cameo appearances from other games, though that's just a part of what made this movie so great. Lots of laughs, action, and a bit of drama make this great for gamers of all ages!

A Solid Disney Effort

First... love, love, love the short before the film. This movie is a great kid's movie, an entertaining adult's movie, and a nostalgia trip for anyone that grew up with video games and/or frequented arcades. Disney's attention to detail is impeccable. For those with small children, there is some violence, use of futuristic lazer guns, and a few scary scenes. There's also some play on language such as someone being told "Don't be a ***** willow."

This movie appeals to the young and their parents! The old school famous video game characters who popped up throughout the movie kept me entertained & briefly sent me back to an innocent place in my childhood. There were a lot of good laughs as well as an important message. The 3D graphics and concept were absolutely brilliant. Im so glad my daughter talked me into this one. :O)

I had seen the trailers several times and wasn't particularly impressed so when the kids started bugging me to go I wasn't exactly excited. However, the concept and story were really well done and the experience all up much better than expected, good fun for kids and adults alike.
