World War Zzzzzzzzz

This movie cost a lot for so little. My wife left before it was over. I could have joined her, it was so predictable. It was like a video game. The writing and dialogue was very weak. The plot was laughable. The audience broke out laughing several times, especially on the zombie closeups and teeth rattling. The acting was flat, even for Brad Pitt, without whom, it would have been a grade B movie. Hollywood needs to learn that CG does not replace a good story, well acted. I give it three out of ten stars. Do not recommend.

Fabulous - Not About the Gore or Shock Value, but About a True Storyline

What I liked best about this movie is that it could have easily been a bloody, gory shock fest, but it wasn't. This one was focused on a viable storyline - what happens when a global epidemic threatens to end humanity? How do you find a cure? I don't need to see zombies eating faces to find out, and luckily, this movie avoided both that and unnecessary cussing. Sure, there were moments that made me jump, and others that had my anxiety level through the roof, but it was all for the sake of the story. Brad Pitt was believable as a dad torn between duty to the U.N. (and the world) and his need to protect his family. I thought the dialogue was well done, especially in the plane scene with the scientist explaining Mother Nature. The cinematography was breath-taking. Definitely a go-to movie for teens/adults.

I really enjoyed it and wished it were longer and included more stuff. Or maybe a part II was coming. Yes, yes its goes on a different take than the book and I'm one of those people who gets annoyed when the movie is different from the book but I really enjoyed this movie! And it makes me want to read the book again. Good job BP.

For starters, I'd like to say that I did in fact read the book and yes the movie is 100% different (literally not a single detail remained the same other than that they are zombies) but realistically I'm not sure how the book would have translated to a movie and I think this adaptation was very well done. Easily the best zombie movie I've ever seen. Brad Pitt was amazing, as was the rest of the supporting cast. A little scarier than I had anticipated but again, still very good.
