Too scary for pre-schooler

We thought what better time to take our son to his first movie theater movie than Winnie the Pooh. He loves Pooh and watching the classics. This movie, however was too scary for him at the tender age of 3.5 yrs old. 30 minutes in the characters had finished singing about the Backson Monster, thanks to Owl's poor reading skills and over active imagination. Our son was terrified and asked to go home, so we got up and left, disappointed in Disney. He spent the rest of the day fearful of the monster and afraid his books were going to disappear. I have read a recent review that mentioned all the friends fell into the pit they dug to catch the monster - glad we were gone before that happened. If you rate a movie G - you would think it suited for a preschooler. Not the case.

Very Much the Classic Pooh

This time Disney returned to the original Pooh, closely tied in with the books, with a dose of humor Mom and Dad with better understand. My daughter and I enjoyed the movie. We were among only four people in the entire theater that afternoon - not as glam as say, Cars 2, but for true fans of the books and the original movie it was a good show. Given the combined price of the concessions and tickets, however, it might be wiser to wait for the DVD and just own it, as no one will be talking about it around the water cooler at work. But if you are raising (or are yourself) a classic die-hard Pooh fan, you won't be disappointed!

It was my second movie in the movie theater and my favorite part was when he dived into the honey and I did not cry at all.

Winnie the Pooh

We went along to see this movie WITHOUT KIDS, as I have been a Pooh fan since a child myself and both my own kids loved the original Pooh movies back when they were little. This was a really sweet movie and so much better since they reverted back to the "old style" drawings. The story line was really sweet too and loved the fact it was all happening within the storybook itself. Hopefully another Pooh story will be forthcoming soon, Disney??? :-)
