William Wister Haines


In film, author William Wister Haines primarily penned screenplays for such action-adventure films as The Eternal Sea and The Racket. As a novelist he made his debut with Slim which, in 1931, he adapted into a film of the same name starring Henry Fonda and Pat O'Brien. As playwright, Haines is best known for the Broadway success Command Decision (1947).
