I as a huge fan of the book as a child was really impressed with the movie. What really impressed me was how they expanded on the story which consisted of hardly any dialouge & turned this into a live action movie. The kid that played Max was very good & give him major props for portraying all sorts of emotions & portrayed childhood as exactly for what it is & supposed to be. The voice acting was very good & really impressed with James Gandolfini in this since I'm a huge Sopranos fan.Rating: 5/5
I took my 10 year old daughter and she really liked it. She said we have to buy it on DVD when it comes out. She cried at the end. The movie does a nice job of comparing the beast to the little boy and how similiar their feelings are.
dark violent dull disappointing waste
Did the director even read the original book? This was absolutely not worth the money I paid.
response to typical Disney movies
