Did Wood Allen first write this script in the 1970s?

I am a HUGE Wood Allen and Larry David fan, so I will see anything they do. Seems like this script was laying around since the 1970s. What do you think? You can only answer this if you have seen every Woody Allen film.

    WhatEver Works

Best movie I've seen (twice) this summer
Enjoyed so much I went back again with another set of friends
The writting and acting was brilliant!
I loved the early years of Woody Allen movies..."Take the money and run", "Bananas", "Annie Hall"
This has it all, every character, the plot (s) , the twists, the humor, REALITY!
    "Whatever Works"...WORKED FOR ME!

    Tepid

I wanted to like it, I really did, it's Woody Allen after all, but I had to leave.

This movie is basically a life preserver for middle aged men that think they can still attract young, hot women. Sorry, but Larry David is just not a believable (or likable) actor. Evan Rachael Wood is competent as the dim witted southern belle, but the best performance by far is Patricia Clarkson as her saint-turned-sinner mother.
