Vertigo is a complex, dreamlike film. You have the beautiful backdrop of 1950's San Francisco, the surrounding area and the Golden Gate Bridge all photographed in a mesmerizing fog. Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak are two people caught in this fog - wanderers - both vulnerable and yet crystal clear. Hitchcock directed this film with great sensitivity and intense power. The music is a power in itself that drives the film. The cinematography is outstanding for its time - no CGI's! The total package is so effective - it truly is one of Hitch's greatest films and I enjoy it every time I see it. I recommend this film for Adults 18+. If you enjoy classic cars, you'll love watching Kim Novak drive around in her gorgeous green Jaguar!
