If you are an Alfred Hitchcock movie lover, and you enjoy seeing the old, old classics on the BIG screen, then you will enjoy seeing this movie. I love the fact that Alamo Drafthouse is showing the old classics!

HItchcock's Masterpiece

VERTIGO by all logical standards shouldn't work as a film. And in 1957 it was denounced and dismissed by not only critics but audiences alike. Now it stands as a master work by the Master who creates this sublime world of reality and unreality as ex-detective Scotty Ferguson ( Jimmy Stewart ) follows mysterious Madeliene Elster ( Kim Novak ) around San Francisco and later falls desperately in love with her. After tragic events he goes into a deep depression and wakes only to discover the first woman's body double and becomes obsessed with making her over into the likeness of the first woman. Haunting, elegant, gorgeously photographed, this was truly Hitch at his most personal. A one of a kind movie that has been duplicated and imitated many times over in many differnet way but none even begin to eclipse its pure beauty and composition.
