Have you ever wondered if there was something worse than Twilight?

Well there is. It's called Vampire Academy. Awful acting. Humor designated for the mentally challenged. Idiotic teen cliches. Dreadfully boring Things that don't make sense. Unspeakable dialogue. Everything you can expect from a Razzie worthy movie.

I feel like the tone of the movie was okay at best. I read all the books back in the day. I loved the movie, don't get me wrong, there were just some things they did to grab people's attention, especially those who hadn't read the books. I just feel like it was too much like a stereotypical high school movie at some parts, but that is to be expected when you have the guy who did mean girls working on the movie. I cannot wait for Frostbite and hopefully the other books' movies to come.

When I heard this book was going to be a movie I was beyond excited. I love the Vampire Academy Series. After I saw the first trailer I became very nervous, afraid that they went and ruined a great book series. Never fear, the trailer did not do the movie any justice and I was surprisingly happy with how it turned out. The portrayal of the characters for the most part were true to the books with an added sarcastic tone. Dimitri and rose were also perfect. I hope they continue with the series.

I have not read these books but this movie made me want to! The vampire world the author created is fascinating stuff for vampire lovers. I really enjoyed this movie and my friend did too (and she didn't want to go-I talked her into it and she loved it). The script is very funny at times, just like Mean Girls was, there's lots of action, some back story to help those who haven't read the books, a little romance (not much), and it is so fast-paced, you didn't feel like you were there that long. The acting was awesome, especially the two leads, Zoey Deutch and Lucy Fry, who play Guardian Rose and princess Lissa. They have a bond where even if they're not together, Rose knows when Lissa's in trouble. The directing and whole look and mood of the film were spot-on. There is a lot of violent scenes so I wouldn't take young children. It is PG-13 for a reason. The ending sets it up nicely for the sequel, which I hope we get.

Good Movie; Great adaptation

I was a little worried about this movie being too comical, but I wanted to watch it before I made my judgement. As an adaptation, it was amazing. It is as close to the actual book as Catching Fire was. As for the movie itself, it was the right amount of seriousness and comedy. The plot was interesting and mostly original and the actors did an amazing job. It has vampires and a few romances, but unlike Twilight, this movie's main focus was on friendship and loyalty (without being too warm and fuzzy). It has quite a bit of action and has scenes that will appeal to male viewers (my boyfriend was impressed by the movie overall). I highly suggest ignoring the trailers, posters, etc. and go see what the movie is REALLY about. BTW: Some people were saying that Vampire Academy would be Mean Girls with vampires. Although there are a few similarities (like an occasional voice over from the main character), Vampire Academy is its own movie.
