I'll gladly pay to see it again

From the storyline to the animation, Up connects on all the levels (emotion, visual, hope, ...). It's been a long time since I walked out of a movie and told my kids that I'd gladly pay to see it again...this week.

My 3 yr old and I loved it!

3D is a must...but the glasses are way to big for anyone under the age of five, so bring something to tie the back together to hold them on her head!

Movie was great and not too predictable!

    Up, Up, and Away!

This is a great kid's movie. The story is captivating, and good perseveres to triumph over evil. The good gouys -- old and young -- learn more about life by living it to its fullest. They learn what really matters. The animation is well done as are the voices. It was fun to watch. Good, clean entertainment.

    UP

A wonderful story of love, loss, and renewal. Go see it.

While my nine year old and I did see the 3D version, we both came away feeling that we would've enjoyed it just as much either way. This film is much more about the storyline than it is trying to show off the very impressive advances 3D technology has made.

If you haven't seen it, you should. It's a good family film. It's a good "date" film. It's a good "fill in whatever category you can think of and insert it here" film. If you MUST see it in 3D, that's fine, but, if you wanna save some bucks, you won't be disappointed by having seen it in regular 2D format. You can take that to the bank "bruthuh", for, if it wasn't so, I would not tell you it was ! :)

    Great MOVIE!!!

This movie is GREAT!!! it is for people of all ages and with multiple movie taste. Just flat out aimed at People in general. i saw the 3D version and it is a MUST watch. im sure the regular one is really good too though. but if you can , take advantage of the 3D. very sad at times. but really really funny. Anyone that does not like , or is disappointed of this movie then probably doesn't have too good of taste for movies. This movie makes you think a little about the important things in life.

Take your kids, parents and grandparents!!!

    by JuliBee

You have to see this in 3D! You'll be amazed at the scenery over the Tapui!
I love that the animators at Pixar are growing up. It's for our parents, who are growing older and losing their soulmates. It's for our kids, who see their working moms and dads- as squeezing quality time with them in the life/work balance struggle. It's the unconditional love of our pets- who in spite of everything will stick with you in thick and thin.
I am constantly surprised at how Pixar can evoke such strong emotions and the how the art of animation has no limits or boundaries.
One question remains tho....why no short at the beginning? Was it the tease of Toy Story 3 in 3D digital???

Funniest Disney Movie I've ever seen.....

The movie was absolutely awesome! First off they introduced the characters and actually that part was a little emotional and then they quickly got to work on the funny stuff. You are not going to be able to hold back the laughter. If you like movies that are cute, funny, and just flat out fun, then this movie is a must see for sure...

    Great Great Movie

This is by far the greatest Pixar movie ever made! It had everything, action, comedy, tragedy, and even romance. They did not use cheap 3D tricks in the movie, the 3D just made for amazing depth in the backgrounds and action scenes. Definitely see it because this is one of the best movies ever!

What a difference 3D makes: Faded colors. distorted images, uncomfortable glasses - you name it!

Do not under any circumstances waste extra money seeing this in 3D! This is a delightful film that stands on its own merits and doesn't benefit from the 3D treatment. The glasses my wife and I received seemed dirty. the graphics resolution and color clarity were shot to hell. I checked the lenses after exiting the theater and found nothing in the glasses that would explain the terrible optics. The last 3D film I saw (before UP) was The Polar Express which was technically wonderful. UP was not even in the same league! Faded colors. distorted images, uncomfortable glasses - you name it - this film blew it.

By all means see UP! but see it as a regular film. Don't reward these guys for getting it wrong.

    Awesome Picture

Wow! The new 3D is amazing! No weird colors, no paper glasses with red and blue. The picture was so crisp and clear! I can't wait until the next Disney3D movie comes out.

The story was good, appropriate for all ages and as usual there's enough adult humor to keep parents enjoying it too. Very entertaining movie. My 4 year old and I were entertained and he wants to see it again!

    UP in Disney Digital 3D

    by nancyrb

Took my 8 year old grandson to see UP in 3D and both of us really enjoyed it very much. Would and do recommend it to all. Great family movie. Was exciting without being the least bit scary for children younger then 8 years. Voices of characters wonderful. Keep up the good work Pixar/Disney.

Thumbs WAY UP for this Movie!

What a great movie....it has everything; drama, suspense, humor, fear, irony, and heart. I wondered while I was watching UP, if they had used my son as a character reference for the little boy in this movie. They had certainly done their research on the behavior of 10 - 12 yr. old boys! Too funny! The character casting for the voices was also superb. The Golden Retriever's voice was spot on with how you'd think a Golden would sound if they could talk. Based on the old man's life and behavior, Ed Asner was also perfectly cast for the part. His voice, manner of speech, timing, everything was perfect. The whole family loved this movie and we would recommend it to anyone.

A Good One, A Little Darker than Normal for Pixar

I just saw Up in 3D and it was pretty great, not WALL-E great, but it was still Pixar great.
Thematically, it is sentimental and sad at the start when it gives Karl's backstory but it is sincere and touching with only one word from Karl.
Anyways, the adventure is a lot of fun, Russell (the kid) is really cute, and the talking dogs almost steal the show.
I do have to say that due to the beginning and the bad guy in the film it is more outwardly darker than other Pixar fare. I mean WALL-E shows the Earth in the aftermath of what an adult would perceive as mass death and disease but to kids it looks more like everyone left because it got dirty.
Up is much more up front about death and mortality but I would still say it would be good for older kids but not a 4 year old.
The 3D was awesome, I'd never seen a movie that way though I have to say that some of the other 3D previews I saw were almost worth the price of admission alone.
Go see Up, you'll feel all warm and fuzzy after.

    Up

First I thought it was going to be very stupid so I didn't even think of going. I mean an old man who wants to tie balloons to his house for adventure, stupid. But my sister wanted to go see it so I went with her. When I actually saw it was more then what I thought it turned out to be a very good movie. If you haven't seen it go see it before it goes out of theaters.

    Up in Disney Digital 3D

Excellent movie, one of Pixar's best. The 3D viewing of this movie was outstanding. All of Pixar's movies should be viewed in 3D. I haven't been to a 3D movie in a while. It used to give me headaches. The technology has advanced so far that this was not a problem this time. No jumping pictures, blurring images, just perfect clarity with incredible depth.
