The title should be "Unwatchable"

By Wilbur Cope

'C'mon, Hollywood. Are you joking? This movie is so far from reality when it comes to trains it's unwatchable - except maybe as a comedy. As a locomotive engineer, I can tell you; this movie is a trainload of crap for dozens of reasons. These glaring issues make it impossible to suspend disbelief long enough to watch this movie. If you fail to hit the alerter button on a moving train, the breaks will apply. The glass in the cab of a locomotive is bullet-proof per FRA part 212 so the fella smashing through it is just plain wrong. The engines careening around the curve with the inside wheels off the rails? Not a chance. Ya want to stop this train? Simply throw the switch on a side track! It happens everyday. Is there some legitimate reason the emergency brake valve doesn't work? I could go on but the bottom line is; this movie is so wrought with technical inaccuracies that it's unwatchable. And these are but a few of the issues shown in the trailer. How much worse can it get?

Bad Language wrecked it for me.

Saw one review that said "No Bad Language". Guess we have come a long ways from "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" in Gone With The Wind. I heard swearing from the start and decided to stick it out for a while thinking it might get better - should have known better; after a while the language got to me and I decided it wasn't for me; too bad because I enjoyed the story line and wanted to see the ending. I would not recommend this if you don't like hearing language that is offensive.

Denzel excels

This is a heartpounding, edge-of-you-seat action experience which begins in the first ten minutes. The combination of Denzel and Chris, both their characters and their styles, are a perfect match. It's action is just over the edge of believability ...not gratuitously scary or full of language issues, but truly action packed. It also had an element of a really feel-good movie, dispite the story line and content, due mostly to Denzel and his character. I wouldn't hesitate to take my middle school kids - it has some wholesome life lessons as well. It was an absolutely enjoyable and I'll buy it when it is available.

One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

I really enjoyed every single moment of this movie. It was very intense but also had a solid plot line. Chris Pine does a great job, as does Denzel Washington. This is a good movie for teens and adults.

This movie was not the one I wanted to see but correlated with the movie my kids wanted to see. It was suspensful, kept you on the edge of your seat, turned out to be much better than I had ever thought. Worth seeing.
