True Romance was written by Q.T., and has all the witty dialogue and bloody violence that we've come to expect from him.

The cast alone makes this movie. The romance is only second best. Funny that men first assume the title is for a Chick Flick. It's perrrrty violent with just the significant amount of F-Bombs. BTW Who doesn't like an Elvis movie!!??!

'True Romance' is a classic crime thriller!

A juicy story with tons of characters and intense action from a legendary writer and a good director is just classic film making! 'True Romance' tells the story of a young couple, Clarence and Alabama. Clarence steals cocaine from Alabama's pimp (since she is a hooker) and is on the run after the mob gets involved and wants the drugs back. Clarence is pretty successful selling the drug at first, but later can't steal anymore due to the clear danger he faces. The mob and law get involved as well as the couples friends. This film shows crazy characters played by Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walker, Chris Penn, Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, and Gary Oldman. Many gangsters are terrifying and brilliant such as Gary Oldman as a crazy pimp and James Gandolfini as a brutal hitman. Brad Pitt has a tiny but classic role as a 24/7 high stone. Quentin Tarantino's script is so creative and entertaining. He uses extreme character development and ties in a complex story to make the characters come together to give a hugely entertaining crime classic. Great dialogue, amazing characters, and entertaining violence. Much of the credit is to now deceased director Tony Scott, who uses intense camera angels and superb guidance on his actors. This film overall is very underrated. I think this film can be put in the same category as 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Reservoir Dogs' in terms of classic and original crime films that have tremendous film making in them. This film is a wild and entertaining ride that isn't overdone or disturbing for second, and goes as one of crime films strongest representatives.
