too expensive and nothing new if you already own the movies

Great if you have never seen it or don't own it at home. My child (4 yr) and I went to matinee and they still charged us each $10. They said because it was a double feature and 3D. Nothing new was added that I could tell as far as 3D goes and glasses give me a headache! I thought I saw advertisement "2 movies for the price of 1". I was disappointed but on a rainy day with a child that loves Toy Story it was fun for him but we could have saved $30 and watched them at home.

fun. but not worth the money

if you own toy story 1 and 2 on DVD already. I suggest you just gather the family downstairs, get some popcorn and candy and watch them both together.
that will save you $13 a ticket and with a family of 4 or so all together going to the movie would be $42 bucks plus 8 bucks for popcorn and 6 bucks for candy!

The 3D quality is good... but take into consideration that this was not made for 3D. It was converted afterward...

so yes, the backgrounds look 3D and the characters do as well... but there is nothing that ever
"jumps out at you" like the commercials say. So in a sense... it's not too worth it.
    '
if you want something jumping out at you i'd wait for Toy Story 3 in 3D. That will be something special.

So my recommendation still stands. Grab your family, rent the 2 movies, save $70 bucks and watch them at home together.

    3D is Nothing Special

I watched this on opening day, and was anticipating to see something special since I haven't watched Toy story in a few years. even though I own both on dvd and know that the common new dvd trend is for movies to come out on 3D in the theater and not come out in 3d for dvd. I thought its a special event espically since I was mad at not being able to see Nightmare before xmas last year in 3d. getting about quarter of the way I thought to my self man this really doesn't have much 3D. took my glasses off and realized they didn't really have 3d except for backgrounds and what not. No great feeling of anything coming off the screen. I really miss the OLD 3D movies where it actually had the feeling of 3D because the last 3 3D movies I seen (Monsters vs Aliens, Toy Story, Ice Age 3D) have been a huge disapointment for 3D effects. If you own the movies on DVD don't spend the money on the 3D. Should have watched Cloudy with a Chance of meatballs since I that movie had cooler special effects

    My daughter loved it!

    by earl980

My wife and I took my 4 year old daughter to this expecting her to lose interest by the end of the first movie since she has both of these on DVD at home. At the end of the first movie we asked if she wanted to leave and she said "no way" she couldn't wait for the second movie to start, she loved seeing these movies on the big screen and in 3-D. The 3-D was really cool, I wasn't sure how it would be since these movies weren't originally made with the 3-D aspect in mind but it did add another cool aspect to it. I highly reccomend everyone go see this while it is still out and take your kids even if they have already seen them at home over and over.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2... (redux)

    by rjakjr

Before going to the theater I figured there wouldn't be much of a difference between the originals and the 3-D re-releases. I was completely blown away by the realistic look that has been added by tooling with the 2 originals. If the price wasn't so damn much I'd say it was worth every penny. My wife and I along with our 2 boys paid just under 50 bucks and that was the matinee price (3:00pm showing). Aside from the price, it was amazing--first kid's movie our boys have watched completely... BOTH movies... THREE hours of movies... yeah, that good.

Toy Story, Toy Story 2 3D

I've always loved Toy Story. This was a nice use of 3D, not gimmicky.

    Toy Story's still got it!

    by sakana

Toy Story was a great movie when it came out and is a great movie today. Seeing it in 3D was a lot of fun!! Pixar set the bar for movies like this and the others still haven't caught up, in my opinion. The animation is great, the story is well developed and the humor is often sophisticated. Everyone -folks of all ages - would enjoy this movie.

Still Classic Whether in 2D or 3D

    by muttdog

You'll likely see some things in the films you didn't see before. I came away with a brand new appreciation for how far the CG genre has advanced. I was also reminded that audiences really need to see these films on the big screen. That's where they really come to life and 3D is just an added enhancement to that.

Two classic films with a beautiful 3D polish

The Toy Story films are a couple of the greatest animated films ever made. Humorous, touching, thrilling, heartbreaking, and triumphant, the adventures of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the toys from Andy's Room are enjoyable for the kids and the kids at heart.

Toy Story sees cowboy doll Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and oblivious spaceman action figure Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) trying to reunite with their owner Andy before he moves away. It's an adventure about building friendship between the two rival toys in the face of huge odds and self-discovery as Buzz realizes that he is really just a toy.

Toy Story 2 sees Woody getting kidnapped by a toy collector and Buzz leading a rescue mission to get Woody back. This time around, the adventure takes Woody on his own path of self-discovery and displays Buzz's devotion to his best friend.

These movies are truly wonderful adventures for all ages, and we can only hope that Toy Story 3 will be as great.

SO WHERE WAS THE 3D EFFECTS??

I am sorry to say that this was a great disappointment. Yes, it was fun to see them back to back on the big screen. However, for the increased price of a 3D movie, there was very little 3D special effects. This was nothing more than the original movies blurred for the "effect". I do not recommend that you spend the money on this viewing, UNLESS you or your children have never seen these films. You can't go wrong with Disney/Pixar....but don't expect to see anything new or exciting here.

    Childhood Memories came rushing back

    by SPF70

The experience of getting to see Toy Story in theatres again was great! The three hours brought back great memories from when I was a little kid watching my VHS copies in the living room. I think everyone who ever saw this movie should go to the 3D showing. The glasses just make the classic movie more interesting for the new generations of Disney-Pixar lovers. I will always love this movie and I love that I can share it with the younger kids I know in a new way.
